MINT - WHO WE ARE
MINT’S Founder and Principal Consultant is Munene Khoza. She has extensive experience in providing strategic communications and project management counsel to clients across several industries. She is well-versed in the development and execution of integrated communications and stakeholder engagement plans, skills which she sharpened during her tenure at global public relations consultancy, Hill+Knowlton Strategies.
Prior to her specialisation in communications, Munene gained invaluable project experience at Accenture South Africa’s Strategy practice, working with clients in Mining and Financial Services to effectively manage people through medium-to-large-scale organisational and system changes.
She is passionate about empowering people and organisations through language, an interest she explored in depth as part of her studies. She holds an MA in Language and Linguistics from Lancaster University (UK) and a BA (Hons) in English Studies and Film & Media from the University of Stirling (UK).
With more than a decade in communication and journalism, Principal Consultant Kirosha Kamal has extensive experience in executing internal and external articles, media releases, conducting high-level interviews, research, editing and proofreading.
She is committed to driving, developing, implementing and measuring MINT’s corporate communications service offerings. At the same time, Kirosha is responsible for driving business development, strategies and securing new clients for the firm. Her entrepreneurial spirit and both strategic and operational competence add value to this role.
Kirosha has developed solid relationships with many notable companies who implicitly trust her skills and knowledge. She is most proud of the work she’s done for, to name a few, Kaitoma Creatives, Thomson Reuters, Ogilvy PR South Africa and St Stithians College. She’s invested her time in these clients by implementing, compiling, editing, crafting or consulting on some of the following: crisis communications plans, style guides, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, website content, theses, books and proposals.
She holds a National Diploma in Journalism from the Durban University of Technology and is completing her BA (Hons) in Organisational Communication from the University of South Africa. She also holds certificates to several accredited courses including the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa, SA Publication Forum, and Chance 2 Advance.
Masindi joined MINT in 2017 further launching her career as a young professional in communications. In her present role as Communications Consultant, Masindi works closely with key clients handling their regular corporate communication needs. She has been involved in PR & marketing projects, social media management, content writing, planning events, executing comms strategy and more while working with clients across industries such as hospitality, agriculture, finance, education and beauty.
Masindi’s academic background is in journalism and she holds a BA Honours degree from the University of Johannesburg and a BA degree from Monash South Africa.
With a penchant for words and writing, she is in her element when writing and creating content. Her role also challenges her to broaden her horizon and hone her skills, hence she aspires to become an all-round communications and media specialist.
Sibongile has a fiery passion for language and communication, which she refined by obtaining a BA Honours in Language Practice, and a BA in Language Practice & Communication from the North-West University, Vaal Triangle Campus.
Her current role as Communications Consultant has presented the platform for her to provide language and communication-based services such as social media management, internal communication, translation of texts, as well as television subtitling for clients across various industries namely Hoyohoyo Hotels & Resorts, Hair by Sisi, Launch Factory and Koeltehof Packers to name a few. She has also provided assistance on recruitment projects for global media giants, Hill + Knowlton Strategies and Ogilvy PR South Africa.
Sibongile’s areas of interest include public relations, copyediting, social media and translating. She constantly aims to broaden her skill set and become an accomplished language and communications practitioner.
Sigourney’s passion for language, communication and design has been the driving force behind her career development at MINT. Her focus is largely on content planning and the design of marketing materials, finding a love for creating both visually and linguistically for our clients. She has taken on managing a client account for The Family Life Centre, this included a website redesign and social media management. Sigourney lent her technical linguistic knowledge to the creation of a specialised style guide for a prominent private college in Sandton and an in-house guide for MINT.
Sigourney spends her free time treating her cat like the queen she is, cooking something delicious with her partner and watching as many David Attenborough documentaries as possible. She has a very strong technical understanding of the English language and a palpable passion for helping clients to harness the power of nuance and complexities of corporate and academic language. Sigourney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Linguistics & English Literature and an Honours in Linguistics from the University of the Witwatersrand which forms her technical language foundation.

Chantal Meugens is an experienced writer, copy editor, proofreader, content developer, social media manager and trainer in all aspects of communication including writing, stakeholder relations and social media. She is also qualified in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL).
Chantal has worked in public relations and communications for over 11 years. She has edited and proofread annual reports, newsletters, various other reports, websites, speeches and articles for blue-chip companies, NGOs, small businesses, individuals as well as government departments.
In addition to her own freelancing pursuits, Chantal collaborates with MINT Language Consultancy on a project basis.
Richard has worked as a high school English Language Educator for over six years at prestigious schools such as St. Stithians College, Lebone II – College of the Royal Bafokeng and Somerset College in Cape Town. He has recently broadened his scope to include academic and corporate proofreading and copywriting. Richard is well-versed in copy editing and proofreading creative assets as well as writing copy for various marketing collateral.
He currently balances his time between being Director of Culture and a Dramatic Arts teacher at the prestigious St Stithians Girls’ College and freelancing for MINT Language Consultancy. He also heads up the English Department at Thandulwazi Maths & Science Academy, a pioneering initiative of St Stithians College that provides educational growth opportunities for students and teachers based in public schools in greater Johannesburg.
