MINT - WHO WE ARE
MINT’S Founder and Principal Consultant is Munene Khoza. She has extensive experience in providing strategic communications and project management counsel to clients across several industries. She is well-versed in the development and execution of integrated communications and stakeholder engagement plans, skills which she sharpened during her tenure at global public relations consultancy, Hill+Knowlton Strategies.
Prior to her specialisation in communications, Munene gained invaluable project experience at Accenture South Africa’s Strategy practice, working with clients in Mining and Financial Services to effectively manage people through medium-to-large-scale organisational and system changes.
She is passionate about empowering people and organisations through language, an interest she explored in depth as part of her studies. She holds an MA in Language and Linguistics from Lancaster University (UK) and a BA (Hons) in English Studies and Film & Media from the University of Stirling (UK).
With more than a decade in communication and journalism, Principal Consultant Kirosha Kamal has extensive experience in executing internal and external articles, media releases, conducting high-level interviews, research, editing and proofreading.
With her background in higher education, Kirosha has gained invaluable skills and insight into the academic fraternity. She has used these skills to provide strong communication platforms for students, academics and stakeholders at the University of South Africa. These include print and online publications, social media communication, brochures and a web presence, with considerable reach, at the university.
Kirosha personifies the adage that one should develop a passion for learning so that they never cease to grow. At the same time, she believes in skills transfer and ensures that she imparts knowledge, through various training, on an ongoing basis.
Kirosha holds a National Diploma in Journalism from the Durban University of Technology and is completing her BA (Hons) in Organisational Communication from the University of South Africa. She also holds certificates to several accredited courses including the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa, SA Publication Forum, and Chance 2 Advance.
Masindi cut her communications teeth interning for reputable media outlets such as Business Report and The Citizen newspapers. She first cultivated her love for Journalism and written communication by completing a BA Honours in Journalism from the University of Johannesburg and a BA in Journalism & Sociology from Monash South Africa. However, she has ambitions to become an all-round communications and media specialist.
In 2017, she joined MINT Language Consultancy where she has broadened her communications skills and had extensive exposure to media practice, working on clients in the hospitality, agriculture and finance industries.
Sibongile has a fiery passion for language and communication, which she refined by obtaining a BA Honours in Language Practice, and a BA in Language Practice & Communication from the North-West University, Vaal Triangle Campus. Her role as a Junior Communications Consultant at MINT Language Consultancy has provided the platform for her to gain invaluable experience and showcase her writing and communication skills.
Sibongile’s areas of interest include public relations, copywriting, copyediting, and translating. She constantly aims to broaden her skill set and become an accomplished language and communications practitioner.
Sigourney has a passion for language and communication. Given her entrepreneurial spirit, she took to freelancing for MINT like an erudite duck to water. Sigourney has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Linguistics & English Literature from the University of the Witwatersrand. After the completion of her Honours degree in Linguistics, with a focus on the dynamics of gender and power in traditional media sources, she joined the MINT team on a more permanent basis.
Sigourney’s focus is largely on editing and proofreading within the Academic and Corporate fields, where she’s demonstrated herself to be speedy and accurate in enhancing a variety of texts. Her role has evolved to include content planning for social media and marketing assistance for our clients in the hospitality industry.
Sigourney has a very strong technical understanding of the English language and a palpable passion for helping clients to harness the power of nuance and complexities of corporate and academic language. Sigourney has ambitions to become an all-round content and copyediting specialist.
Featured Associate Consultants
Chantal Meugens is an experienced writer, copy editor, proofreader, content developer, social media manager and trainer in all aspects of communication including writing, stakeholder relations and social media. She is also qualified in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL).
Chantal has worked in public relations and communications for over 11 years. She has edited and proofread annual reports, newsletters, various other reports, websites, speeches and articles for blue-chip companies, NGOs, small businesses, individuals as well as government departments.
In addition to her own freelancing pursuits, Chantal collaborates with MINT Language Consultancy on a project basis.
Richard has worked as a high school English Language Educator for over six years at prestigious schools such as St. Stithians College, Lebone II – College of the Royal Bafokeng and Somerset College in Cape Town. He has recently broadened his scope to include academic and corporate proofreading and copywriting. Richard is well-versed in copy editing and proofreading creative assets as well as writing copy for various marketing collateral.
He currently balances his time between the classroom, operating as the Communications Officer and Copy Editor at Redhill School and freelancing for MINT Language Consultancy.
